The classic Down East Maine farmhouse from the 1800's, is located on a quiet lane, just a short a short walk to Flat Bay. The large property is landscaped with perennial flowers and shrubs and includes huge lawn areas. It's great for kids and very comfortable for a large family or couples.

Front yard The farmhouse is located about a half hour from the entrance to Acadia National Park at Schoodic Point and an hour and 20 minutes to the Acadia National park entrance near Bar Harbor. Nestled between the beautiful Narraguagus and Pleasant rivers, the house is only a short jaunt from sites like McClellan Park (9.8 mi.) with spectacular coastal views; Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge (14 mi.), with excellent hiking and bird watching. Downeast Sunrise Trail is an 85 mile multi-use recreational trail three miles from the farmhouse.

Travel west and find Donnell Public Reserved Lands, 14,000 acres of remote forested land with crystal clear lakes, secluded ponds, and mountains with panoramic views; (12 mi.) Travel east and find Roque Bluffs State Park with a beautiful sandy beach, and The Bold Coast Trail (45 mi.) a 12,234-acre expanse of blueberry barrens, woodlands and peat lands with 4.5 miles of headlands, pocket coves and cobble beaches overlooking the Bay of Fundy.  

The kitchen area Also nearby are quaint coastal villages like Winter Harbor, home to many antique shops and local artists and artisans. Harrington is out of the way of the more touristy areas, but truly central to the best that Maine has to offer in terms of beautiful coastline, local fishing villages and hiking in some of the most incredible natural areas of Maine.

Baie view The house can easily sleep a family of 6. There is a full bathroom downstairs, off the bedroom that has the double bed, and a half bath upstairs in the master bedroom and also accessible by the children's room just the other side of the passage. One does need to go through a bedroom to get to a bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen comes with granite counter tops, gas range and a dishwasher, all tastefully integrated into a very old farm kitchen with ceiling high wainscoted cabinets and a beautiful antique cast iron cook stove. The living room has a Vermont Castings wood stove that you can cozy up to in cooler weather. T.V. wifi are included as well as a good cell phone signal. Firewood and all linens are provided.

  • Pet fee $50 plus tax for crate trained pets.Ask for our pet policy.
  • Advertised rate per week is for 6 people. House sleeps 6 maximum
  • Advertised rate for 3 or 4 days is for 2 to 4 adults or families. Larger adult groups pay $50 per person extra for half week (3 or 4 nights)
  • Holiday weekend pricing is different than non-holiday weekends Weeks that include 1 or 2 holiday nightswill be prorated. Ask for details.
  • A down payment of half the total price is required to make a reservation. Balance is due two weeks before arrival.
  • We accept checks. If a credit card must be used, we accept PayPal payments.
